Buffalo News- Buffalo attorney Stephen Barnes was piloting a small airplane that crashed Friday in Genesee County, a source in Barnes’ law firm and another attorney confirmed. The two sources said that Barnes owned the plane. A third source said Barnes and a female relative were on board and both died. Law enforcement sources have not identified anyone who was on board the plane.
During a briefing this afternoon, Genesee County Sheriff William Sheron said officials from the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to arrive at the crash scene Saturday. Sheron said the airplane was “pretty much disintegrated” and added: “There’s not much left at all.”
Fuuuuuuuuuuuck man, the hits keep on rolling in during this godforsaken year. I've seen the other Barstool cities blog about losing local favorites over the last few months and Celino & Barnes certainly fit the bill for New York. If you needed an injury attorney back in the day, they were the first name you thought of because if you turned on a TV in the Tri-State Area, you were going to hear that delightful melody full of 8's multiple times. Their rise was legendary, their breakup was literally front page news, and their firm (as well as banger of a jingle) even spawned a play to be made about them.
Obviously nothing has been confirmed yet but sincere best wishes to the family and friends of everyone in the crash.
