Recommended: The Allman Brothers Band - Whipping Post (Live At Fillmore East 1970)

I've been making my way thru 'Freaks And Geeks' for the first time in a long time recently, and when I heard 'Whipping Post' by The Allman Brothers Band open up an episode the other day, I knew I'd use it for my 'Recommended:' blog on Monday.

This performance comes from one of their Fillmore East shows in 1970 (not one of the shows eventually used for their famous Fillmore East live album, that'd come a year later) and features what could only be described as mind blowing musicianship across the stage.

Hope you enjoy! Keep the Allman Brothers Band vibes rollin with this if ya did....

P.S. 'Freaks And Geeks' is a must-watch television series in my eyes. It's real easy to binge (being it was famously cancelled after just one season) so it isn't even that big a time commitment, and I'm tellin ya: you won't regret it. If it premiered on Netflix in 2020 I bet it woulda lasted for a dozen seasons! It's the perfect high school coming-of-age show that often deals with super relatable issues and hilarious dilemmas we all went through in a pretty realistic and genuine way, and the cast is obviously star-studded.

It's not available online right now because a ton of the music it uses is caught up in copyright disputes or something, so you'll have to buy the DVDs, but I believe it's a worthwhile investment....
