Amir Garrett Telling Himself He's A Bad Motherfucker Before Throwing A Wipeout Slider Is A Mood

If you don't know who Amir Garrett is, it's time to get familiar.

As he so eloquently points out here, he's a bad motherfucker. We had him on Starting 9 for this year's Spikes Up Tour before the world got shut down, and his story is fascinating. Easily one of the better interviews we've ever had. Every fan has that one player on their favorite team who has all of the talent in the world, but looks like they're just going through the motions without an ounce of fire or that they look like they could give a fuck less if they went 0-for-4 with three punchouts. Garrett ain't that dude. He will rip your head off, shit down your throat and then strike you out with a 97mph heater. In this particular incident, Garrett reminded himself that he's a bad motherfucker before he threw a wipeout slider for strike three.

I've been beating the Cincinnati Reds drum since before the season started. Their rotation is stacked, their lineup launches bombs, and then there's this guy. He's not the only filthy reliever at the backend of that Reds bullpen, but he's one dude you simply don't want to get into the batter's box and look out at on the mound with the game on the line. He will eat you alive.

If you ever get the chance to meet him, you'll find that he's one of the nicest and most down to earth dudes you'll come across in this game. But that's Amir. When he's on the mound, that's AG. And because of guys like him, the Reds are simply not a team you want to run into come October.
