Wake Up With Eva Mendes in ‘The Other Guys’

“The Other Guys” is an above average early 2010s comedy made very good by several running gags, like the Derek Jeter bit or Michael Keaton’s Captain Gene working a side job at Bed, Bath & Beyond and unconsciously quoting TLC lyrics. But none of the running jokes work as well as Eva Mendes being Will Farrell’s inexplicably hot, smart, accomplished and sexual wife, the doctor who put herself through med school dancing for the Knicks. And Mark Wahlberg’s mystified reaction to her. 

It’s not, say, Ron Burgundy or “Step Brothers” or “The Hanover” in the belly laugh count. But none of those comedies had Eva Mendes, either.
