A Teammate Of Jaromir Jagr Has Participated In The Stanley Cup Final Every Year Since 1980

That was Jagr in circa 1992 against our Chicago Blackhawks. And according to hockey/r Jagr has had a teammate play in the Stanley Cup Final every single year since 1980. That seems impossible but reddit is never wrong

With Dallas moving on, the Jagr-teammate-in-the-Finals streak reaches its 40th consecutive year thanks to Tyler Seguin.

Beginning in 1980, every Stanley Cup Final has featured a player who is or was at one time a teammate of Jaromir Jagr. Jagr and Seguin were teammates on the 2012-2013 Bruins.

EDIT: thanks to PeterG92 and chomicze for pointing out he was also teammates with Benn, Oleksiak and Khudobin during the 2012-2013 season.

40 fucking years of guys wandering the Stanley Cup Final with a direct connection to Jaromir Jagr. Jagr is in the Tony Gwynn and Greg Maddux pantheon of having so many insane stats. This one might be my favorite. 1980 had a Stanley Cup Final between the Flyers and Islanders. Those Flyers teams who won in the mid 70s. Those guys are like 100 years old now. And they're connected through some weird Jagr family tree. He is literally one degree of separation with seemingly the entire NHLPA alumni association. And...he'd still play if someone would let him. An absolute freak of nature who put up 29 points in 38 games in the Czech League...this fucking season. He can never get enough hockey and I can never get enough Jags
