Steelers Game Balls Week 1 vs. Giants

Here we fucking goooooooo. 

Game balls, game balls, game balls all around. It's week 1. I'm not sure I'd usually do this, but damn it feels good tonight. Plenty to go around. Let's start on offense. 

Ben Roethlisberger

I mean what a start to the Revenge Tour. It's early, yes. He could be hurt week 2 after running around like a geriatric fuck, I get that. But tonight. Tonight is what we're talking about. And tonight, after a couple rusty drives after taking Big Ben looked like vintage Big Ben. The drive at the end of the first half was pure sex. Exactly what the Steelers missed so desperately in 2019. 

21-32, 229 yards, 3 TD.

JuJu Smith-Schuster

Proud of JuJu. He was the butt of a lot of jokes from myself included from last year and this offseason being more focused on TikTok than he is playing, but the dude showed out tonight with his QB1 back. 6 catches, 69 yards, 2 TDs. He scored 3 all of last year. And don't forget the Benny Snell fumble he recovered when the Steelers were driving. Looked focus. Need it every week this year, but great for him in Week 1. 

Benny Snell

Benny. Snell. Football. Every time this guy gets the ball he's electric. He's falling forward. He just seems to have more juice than James Conner, and it sucks that already Conner is banged up, but damn. Benny Snell looked great tonight (besides the fumble even though the Steelers recovered). 

19 runs, 113 yards, close to 6 yards per carry. 

TJ Watt

He didn't register a sack, but the INT in the first half was huge. Changed the game. Steelers down 10-3. Giants with the ball after they had just scored on a big play. He leaps up and not only knocks the ball down - he picks it off. Steelers scored on the ensuing drive and after that got Ben rolling. TJ is just a difference maker. 

Bud Dupree

Best performance on defense of the night. Constantly smacking Saquon three yards in the backfield. Rushing Daniel Jones when the Giants had the ball at the 2 yard line and forcing the INT. I'm enjoying the hell out of him this season because he's gone next year. He will absolutely cash in, but this year he will ball out in black and yellow.

Cam Heyward

My guy was constantly giving some pressure up the middle but this more so just goes for him getting the first INT of his stellar career, and honestly it was pretty hilarious. Came at a big time, too. 

Good night all around. Plenty to clean up no doubt, but always better to start 1-0 than 0-1.
