Pardon My Take's Football Guys of the Week Nominees - Week 1

Football is back! And with the return of the season, we get more folks proving why they will do ANYTHING to prove their grit and passion for the sport. That is the definition of a Football Guy. If you're new to Pardon My Take, each week we will come up with four nominees who have done or said something that resembles the definition above. It is then up to you, the AWL's, to vote for the winner on Twitter.

So, let's get to it. Here are the nominees for 2020's first FGOTW:

Brennan Pugh - A HS coach in Mississippi who rented a lift to watch his team’s game while he was in quarantine.

This one made its run across Twitter on Friday Night. And this coach was making sure that no matter what, he was not missing his team take the field.

Ron Rivera - Got a planned IV at halftime while fighting cancer in order to continue coaching in his debut with Washington, and following it up with a win.

I'd be shocked if the coach of the (1-0!) Washington Football Team didn't come out on top here. Cancer sucks. Ron Rivera was going to be on the sidelines in his debut with DC's team no matter what. What a great start for Mr. Commenter's squad.

Peter Agabe - Charlotte LB for showing his excitement in insane fashion before kickoff to pump his team up.

If this guy doesn't want to make you run through a brick wall, I don't know what will. There is absolutely no sense of what this "move" could be, but it is nothing short of electric.

Denny Sheridan - 71-year-old fan in Cincinnati who put up a ladder on top of his pickup truck in order to watch a high school football game

When no fans are allowed, you have no choice but to get creative. And that is what Danny Sheridan did. Be careful, sir.
