Game 6 Has Finally Arrived. LET'S FUCKING GO

The day to close out this series has finally arrived. While previous games were obviously important, it doesn't even come close to your first closeout opportunity. We've seen this Celtics team allow the Raptors to come back from the dead before in this series, well now is most certainly not the time to play with your food. You cannot fuck around with close out games. When you have a chance to put the final nail in the coffin of your opponent, you need to take it. Once things get to a Game 7, anything can happen. We know this no matter what era of Celtics basketball you want to reference.

There are certainly reasons to feel confident heading into today, especially with how the Celts looked in Game 5. If they show up with that energy and effort today things should go well. But there's also the reality of Tony Brothers being involved in today's game. You knew the league was going to give the Celts one of Bothers/Foster. So mentally prepare for two early fouls on Marcus Smart. I choose Smart because his defense on Lowry is the key to everything.

And just like I do in the postgame blog, we have to tell the truth when it comes to the Celtics and Game 6s during the Brad Stevens era. Here's the reality:

The Celtics are 1-4 in Game 6s since 2016.

Shoutout u/ITsLoverBoy for that research. Kinda wish I didn't read it but since I did I figured we may as well talk about it.

It's important to stress that previous results don't really matter when it comes to this team and this game in 2020. It's just my job to make sure you are mentally prepared for everything and have all the information available as we inch closer and closer to tip. You have to expect that the Raptors are going to come out with a whole lot more energy today because honestly both sides have had carbon copy efforts. Both lost a game where they couldn't make an open three to save their life, both won a game on a legit prayer. It's only right that Game 6 is the Raptors chance to come out guns blazing with their season on the line, sort of like how the Celts did in Game 5.

So what can we do? Well, we have quite a few hours to get through before the most stressful 2.5 hours of our lives, so we may as well get high as shit off of hype videos and highlight videos and try our best to put that type of energy out into the universe. It's the least we as fans can do and you cannot prove to me with concrete evidence that it won't make a difference. Let's hit it

Game 6. Win and you advance. The East has never been more wide open than it is right this second. Assert your dominance and LET'S FUCKING GO.
