ARod Doesn't Care What Posada Thinks And He Shouldn't

HBT – Yesterday, Jorge Posada, making the rounds on his book tour, said that PED guys should not make the Hall of Fame. He specifically mentioned his former teammate, Alex Rodriguez. Of course A-Rod was asked about it. Maybe not so much because anyone cared what he’d say but because, man, eventually A-Rod is gonna say something controversial, right? And we HAVE to be there when he says it!

No luck. A-Rod was a diplomat once again:

“I have nothing but good things to say about Jorgie. I consider Jorgie a friend . . . Jorgie’s always worn his heart on his sleeve and that’s fine. He was a great teammate and a great player for a long time. What remember the most is sharing and winning a championship in ’09.”

If there is a PR award out there for baseball players, ARod should win it unanimously. The way he is dominating the media, is the equivalent of a baby who never took a step before, winning a marathon.  Now the real question it what member of the media blows their brains out first because ARod hasn’t broken and given any fonder for the back pages? Take his spot at third, no problem. Take his backup spot at third, no problem. Call him a cheater who should be in the Hall, no problem. The media hates it, but if he keeps hitting the fans, love it.

Plus who cares what a guy just trying to sell a book says?

Other Yankee Thoughts

– It was the right move to leave Eovaldi in the game the other night. Yeah it’s great to have a lead against Archer but in May it means more to build a guys confidence than to win a game against a team that wont be in the playoff hunt. It didn’t work this time but Eovaldi through a great game and is gaining confidence. If this offense puts up more than 2 runs the last 2 games, it was a great move by Girardi to leave him in, but Girardi can’t hit as the manager.

– Tanaka and Nova are close to coming back. Both guys are throwing again and reporting now issues, so if they can keep that going we will have a solid rotation for June and an improved front of the bullpen by moving some of the current starters out of the rotation. All year people are going to worry about Tanak’s arm and that makes sense, but this is a good sign that the latest problem was just a tight forearm and not signs of bigger trouble.
