FBS Football Returns TONIGHT

Folks, after 234 days and uncertainty the likes of which we have never seen, there will be a college football game between two FBS teams played tonight when the South Alabama Jaguars take on the Southern Miss Golden Eagles — UAB will also play against America's newest favorite team Central Arkansas.

We got a bit of a taste last Saturday with an FCS matchup between the aforementioned Central Arkansas and Austin Peay, but FBS football is officially back. It's not the usual first Thursday night we're used to, but I'd be willing to guess there will be more eyes on South Alabama and Southern Miss tonight than either of those programs could have ever fathomed six months ago.

College football is the one sport where I can watch absolutely anyone play. I don't generally get very invested in professional games between teams I don't care about, but you throw two Division I teams on the football field and I'm in. I will be glued to every snap tonight.

It just feels like we finally made it. Obviously there is still a lot to sort out as it pertains to the Big Ten, but we are officially back in the hustle and bustle of football season. We're just a little over a week away from Power Five football coming back and we have a nice Labor Day appetizer of BYU-Navy on Monday night, as well.

Today is just a day to celebrate. We are all South Alabama Jaguars and/or Southern Miss Golden Eagles tonight.
