Wake Up With the Final Song from ‘School of Rock’

Back to School week continues on the Wake Up Withs.

“School of Rock” is one of those movies that should not have worked. It’s a ridiculous idea on its face and had no business being as good as it was. But Jack Black, the kids and the music somehow pull it off and make an impossible premise plausible by how invested they are. Try to imagine anyone else in this role but Black. You can’t. He was born to do this. And this song - as nobody in my generation ever put it - slaps.

Welcome back to another school year, kids. Let’s hope this one ends next June with huge concerts.
