Restoring Shit Is Pretty Fun: Check Out This Old Ford Wrench I'm Restoring

I know. I know. Theres no sound until like the 3 minute mark. I was still connected to my headphones because I just finished mowing.

Anyway, this process has been pretty fun and is serving as a little bit of practice before I start restoring an old axe and making the handle out of a tree log I picked up last week. I think I'll start moseying on over to some flea markets and antique stores to find more of this type of shit.

This wrench is from the Ford Motor Company. Back in the day, Ford supplied their workers with tools that the company made. They are solid as fuck and heavy as hell. You can find cheap old shit like this on ebay for cheap. I got this one for like 11 dollars and it came with three others that are similar but dont have a wooden handle.

What I learned this morning: although having a belt sander and disc sander is cool and will be really useful, I should have went with the old fashioned hand method here. The name of the game isnt speed and getting projects done as quickly as you can. It's having a greater margin for error and hand sand paper does just that. Some of you might be wizzes with the belt sander but that's certainly not me.

Pretty big difference is just 2 days. More to go. Gonna clean up some of the troubled spots with a Dremel tool and then hand sand it all smooth.

Any recommendations to get the metal shining bright like our futures again?
