I Have A Question That Has Been Bothering Me, Why Do Notre Dame Grads All Wear Class Rings?

So I meant to write this blog on Tuesday after the game but I totally forgot. Saw that dejected pale faced Notre Dame fan decked out in his SWEET class ring and I was reminded that every single Notre Dame grad wears their class ring and I’ve never got a reasonable explanation for it.  Honestly, what the fuck is up with that? I mean I get having traditions and school pride, but there are a million school traditions I can think of that don’t involve wearing a class ring and looking like a total dick fucker wherever you go.

So what is it? Is it a self esteem thing? Is it a cool thing? Do people who went to Notre Dame think they look awesome wearing a class ring? I honestly can’t understand it. I know a ton of Chicago Stoolies went to ND, so explain it to me. Do you guys think you’re going to lose all your importance as a human being if you don’t have a ring on your finger? Do you realize that wearing a class ring, any class ring is the ultimate squid move? I just can’t understand it. I’m not even trying to hate, I just want a reasonable explanation. Someone normal tell me that they wear their class ring and don’t feel like a complete douchebag. I mean, I love my school too, but you couldn’t pay me all the money in the world to wear a class ring in an un-ironic fashion.

I have a good friend who wears HIS DAD’S ND ring. Not even his. He didn’t even go to Notre Dame, went to Colorado and now wears his father’s class ring. And I would say its fucking insane but i feel like that’s the norm with Notre Dame people. Its like they’re living on a completely different planet than the rest of us.
