JoJo Fletcher Will Temporarily Take Over 'The Bachelorette' Hosting Duties For Two Weeks While Chris Harrison Quarantines

Us Magazine- Another Bachelorette plot twist. JoJo Fletcher will replace Chris Harrison for two weeks as the host of The Bachelorette, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal. According to a source, the 49-year-old host was unable to return to set at the La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, California, after he dropped his son, Joshua, off at college in Texas.

“The moment he got back, Chris was told he could not set foot back on the set until he went through another 14-day quarantine,” the insider tells Us. “The show’s contestants and crew all had to quarantine on the property for 14 days prior to the camera’s rolling. But it didn’t dawn on Chris he’d have to do it all over again if he simply left to take his kid to college.”

The 29-year-old former Bachelorette was subsequently called in to take over for Harrison for 14 days. “He will be back in time for the last few shows,” the source notes.

Here's what I want to say about this after giving it a lot of thought: I both like this and dislike this.

I dislike this because Chris Harrison is the greatest of all time. At anything. Chris Harrison is better at his job than anyone else in the world. Chris Harrison, largely, is The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Chris Harrison is such a large part of the Bachelor Cinematic Universe that it simply wouldn't run smoothly without him. Chris Harrison is perfect. The Bachelor Cinematic Universe ceases to exist without Chris Harrison. Am I being overdramatic because I love Chris Harrison and don't even want to think about the future of this franchise without Chris Harrison as the host? Yes absolutely. I know that Chris Harrison is only going to be gone for two weeks but it still scares me because we NEED Chris Harrison.

On the other hand, I like this because JoJo Fletcher is a delight. JoJo is my favorite Bachelorette of all time so I'm not really going to mind her hosting the show for a couple of weeks while Chris Harrison quarantines. JoJo is awesome and will do an awesome job. At the very least it'll be interesting watching someone else host the show after we've watched Chris Harrison do it for so many years. It'll be VERY weird and ultimately the only reason I'm okay with it is because it's temporary. Like I said, I think JoJo will do a fantastic job but at the end of the day we're gonna need Chris Harrison back in the saddle.

By the way, this is all happening because Chris Harrison went and dropped his son off at college at TCU so now he has to quarantine for two weeks before returning to the show. COVID is obviously very serious and The Bachelorette clearly has a protocol in place that says anyone who leaves the bubble must quarantine for two weeks before returning.........but couldn't they test Chris Harrison a million times, make sure he doesn't have COVID and let him come back and host the show earlier? I get that it'd go against protocol but it's Chris Harrison we're talking about here! He's the guy! The host! The Man, The Myth, The Legend. I guess that just goes to show how seriously they're taking COVID in The Bachelorette bubble. Not even Chris Harrison gets preferential treatment.
