Today, We All Root For The Bubble Suns

Alright, this is it. A chance to make NBA history is on the line today for the Phoenix Suns. Guess how many teams in NBA history have ever gone 8-0 in a bubble environment? Zero. That's how many. With the Mavs seed all locked up I'd be shocked if they played Luka or Porzingis so the Suns have every opportunity to snag this win and cap off one of the most impressive runs this franchise has had in years.

To help set the stage, let's take a quick job down memory lane of how ridiculous this team has been in Orlando

7-0. Devin Booker going up another level basically dropping 35 a night, Ayton looking better and better with every opportunity, Mikal Bridges dominating both ends of the floor, they've been awesome. This is a team with the 5th best offense, 4th best defense, and the 1st net rating in the bubble. They're also 5th in points per game and 5th in assists. Given who they also had to beat to get to 7-0, there is no arguing that the Suns haven't been one of if not the best team in the entire bubble.

But sadly, they need some help today. It's a very real possibility that we see the Suns go 8-0 and still miss the play in game. How is that possible? Well, if the Grizzlies beat the Bucks, they get the 9th seed. I'll remind you Giannis is suspended, my guess is everyone will sit, and you can't ignore the fact that the Grizzlies coach comes from the Coach Bud tree. Of course he's going to help out his buddy.

I say fuuuuuuuuuck that. A MEM/POR play in is not what the people want. I'm sorry Grizzlies but you're 1-6 in the bubble, are missing JJJ and you blew your chance. This is where I need Adam Silver to work his magic and make sure we get POR/PHX. You can't tell me Dame vs Booker wouldn't be electric. Can you imagine if the Suns go 10-0 in the bubble to make it into the playoffs? That would be pure insanity. Considering they survived a 70 point effort from Luka/Porzingis last time these two played, there's no reason they shouldn't be able to pull this one out and make that a real possibility.

But if they somehow miss out on the play in, that's just tough shit. Be better during the regular season so you aren't even in a position to go 8-0 in the bubble and still miss the playoffs. The league gave them a chance and if they go 8-0 they did everything they could, but if it's not enough to jump the teams ahead of them then so be it. Now I'm praying it doesn't get to that point, but if it does that's just how the cookie crumbles.

Both the Suns and Grizzlies play at the same time today (4pm ET) and I don't know if they have the ability to scoreboard watch, but let's just hope this is one of those days where the Bucks reserves light it up from three. 2020 has been such dogshit we deserve the Blazers/Suns play in game.

Please Basketball Gods, give that to us.
