I was going to say that I'm not quite sure what it is with CFB coaches and WW2 references, but then I remembered college football coaches prepare like they're going to war every single Saturday, so of course, they use war references. In their minds, they are the closest thing to a war general that we have in society.

I truly do miss Lou Holtz's ramblings on ESPN. The man always put a smile on my face. You could barely understand what he was saying and found yourself at the end of his ramblings just thinking....what? This was a perfect example of it. Lou just pulled the Normandy reference out of nowhere. He was talking about college football being played and then BOOM Normandy reference.
