We Can All Agree That Vince McMahon Is Behind The Rock's Purchase Of The XFL, Right?

The Nate Dawg blogged this unbelievable news a little while ago and like everyone else, I was getting all hyped about The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment pulling a quick one on his old boss and evolving to The Most Electrifying Man In Sports.

Then I thought about it for a second and couldn't believe I ever thought The Rock took down Vinnie Mac. How many times have we been hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray, run amok, and flat out deceived by Vincent K. McMahon?

Like when he was revealed as the head of the Corporate Ministry after months of mystery

Like when he bought WCW out of the fucking blue

Like when he faked his own death on live TV

(Which even led to the President of the United States reaching out to see if Vince was okay)

The only thing you can trust about Vince McMahon is that you can't trust him. I bet he'll even tell you that himself before one of his henchmen smashes a steel chair over your head. I'm not sure why he would have The Rock buy the XFL instead of him riiiiiight before it went up for auction. It could be due to some fine print in the bankruptcy wording or a tax issue my poor ass couldn't compute. But as someone that has watched countless awful wrestlers get pushes despite being an abject disaster, I have no doubt in my mind that Vince McMahon sure as shit isn't giving up on the XFL anytime soon. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me 100 times, you ain't gonna fool me again.

Regardless of if/when Vince reveals himself as the puppetmaster pulling all the strings or what this all means for next year's WrestleMania main event, The Rock becoming the face and voice of XFL 3.0 is the best news to happen to a sports league since Barstool and NASCAR teamed up.
