Jamal Adams Says He Wants To Retire A Seahawk. Jets Fans LOL

Things have been testy with Jamal Adams and the Jets for a while now… so much so that even last season, Cowboys fans thought he might be traded but alas, the Jets had a price that was much to steep. As I noted at the time, the chances Adams ended up in Dallas was 0.0.0.0%.

Now, after things going from a tad bit awkward to publicly contentious, Prez, not to be confused with El Pres, is now a Seattle Seahawk.

Today, from his downtown Seattle hotel room, Jamal had a periscope press conference. He told reporters that while he can’t say for sure what’s going to happen when his contract is up, he excitedly said that “This is my calling, man. I’m here to stay, and I’m excited to be a Seattle Seahawk. I’m really overwhelmed.” He then said his plan was “to retire in Seattle.”

“I knew [Seattle] was a perfect spot for me but I couldn’t just come out and say it. “

Subtext: “Girl… I’ve been eyeing you, but I just couldn’t slide in your DMs while I was still in another relationship.”

Now, you may be thinking, “hmm, that’s interesting, I feel like Jamal has said that before”. AANNND you would be right.

Back just 8 months ago, AFTER there were rumors that Prez wanted to be traded to Dallas, closer to where he was raised, Jamal said he wanted to be “a Jet for Life.”

Then, when he couldn’t get his big money extension, he sewered Adam Gase by saying:

“He’s not the right leader to get us to the Promised Land. If we’re playing shitty and we’re losing, he doesn’t address the entire team as a group at halftime. He’ll walk out of the locker room and let another coach handle it.”

But more than that, demanded to be traded.

Listen, I love some Jamal Adams. I cannot stand Adam Gase and his erratic, shifty coked out eyes or his even more erratic decision making.

But if I’m the new chick in this situation, (i.e Seahawks), and Jamal tells me “baby, I want to be with you for the rest of my life”, I would be SUPER skep given that he flipped the script and left the last girl when the seas got a little rough.

GRANTED the Seahawks are NOT dysfunctional like the Jets are, BUT still, I’d be a tad gunshy.

Adams has $13.45 million over two years ($3.59 million in 2020 and $9.86 in 2021) remaining on the contract he signed after the Jets made him the sixth overall pick in 2017. And believe me, if Pete Carroll doesn’t give him somewhere north of what Jalen Ramsey is looking for (i.e. $22 milly a year), especially after Byron Fucking Jones (no disrespect to Byron, love Byron) got five years and $82.5 million from the Miami Dolphins, you can be DEAD ASS certain Jamal will change his tune ONCE again and will be jumping ship, no matter how good the culture is or their chances of winning a chip.

And then the Seahawks will join the Jets in the corner, crying their eyes out as Jamal sexes up another team on the dance floor.

Cowboys anyone?
