Gianni Russo Tells The Story Of Getting Kidnapped By Pablo Escobar After Murdering His Underboss In A Las Vegas Restaurant

Some background: Gianni Russo is an (alleged) mob-affiliated 77 year-old actor and singer. He became famous in 1972 for his role as 'Carlo' in The Godfather. In 1988 he shot a man twice in the face and three times in the chest in front of 150 people at his Las Vegas restaurant after the man attacked him and a female patron with a broken bottle. No charges were ever filed. The video of him telling that story came last month and has 1.1 million views.

Here it is:

*2:29 if it doesn't skip

I know it's long, but it's worth a watch if you have the time and are interested in this kind of stuff. Other than him smiling as recounted killing the guy (5:35), the craziest part was that Pablo Escobar made him act out the final scene to the Godfather to trick him into thinking he was going to get killed. What a sicko. It also shows his expendable his guys were. I mean that was his underboss, not a foot soldier, an underboss and he just threw him away like it wasn't a big deal. Wild. If you found that story interesting make sure to check our Fear City: New York vs The Mafia on Netflix. It's fantastic.

PS: Completely unrelated but I was thinking today…why do Irish guys always want to be Italian and Italian guys are always part Irish? Think about it…
