The wait is FINALLY over and Opening Day is here. After months and months of previews and test runs, Barstool Sports is launching a brand new, interactive broadcast experience that begins today.
Welcome to Stool Streams, where YOU will have the chance to win cash prizes a couple of times each week as various Barstool personalities compete in different sports and games. Here are all the details on what you need to know:
What is Stool Streams? It's probably best to start with the basics. As we get rolling throughout the next couple of weeks, there will be a rotation of live matches of Table Tennis, Jenga, Cornhole, and Darts that will be broadcasted live on numerous platforms. Stoolies all across the country will be able to follow along and submit picks beforehand with a chance to win cash. The Table Tennis and Jenga clips you've seen over the course of the last few months have just been soft previews of the full experience.
Who will be participating in the broadcasts? As mentioned above, the roster for each sport will be a wide list of Barstool bloggers. I am honored to be handling the majority of the play-by-play and will have a rotating cast of others who will join me up in the booth as my partner (Dave, Big Cat, PFT, Jeff D Lowe, just to name a few). Hank is the mastermind behind this entire concept and will be leading the production truck with All Business Pete and a great crew of folks in the control room.
How do I participate? Getting in on the action and having a chance to win the cash is simple. All you have to do is download the "PlayBarstool" app from the App Store, create an account, and submit your picks for the upcoming broadcasts. There are further instructional videos and FAQ's within the app, but feel free to reach out to any of us with additional questions.
What do I have to do to have a chance to win? For each broadcast, there will be a total of six questions. If you successfully go 6-for-6, you're guaranteed to win at least a share of the Progressive Jackpot ($500). If nobody has a perfect submission, the $500 will roll over to our next broadcast, which obviously means there will be more cash up for grabs moving forward. As for the questions specifically, half of them will consist of overall match predictions (usually Q1, Q3, and Q5), while the others (Q2, Q4, Q6) will typically be asking about things that happen within each match (total points, winning margin, etc.) There will be three different matches within each broadcast.
When will broadcasts be taking place? To start things off, we will be going live on the PlayBarstool App and other platforms (TBD) every Monday and Wednesday at 2 PM ET (Special 1 PM start today). But for now, make sure your picks are in every Monday and Wednesday afternoon. In addition to watching the broadcasts live on the app, there will be a live leaderboard as well to see where you stand on that specific day.
A lot of people have put in tons of hard work to make Stool Streams come to life, and we are very excited to get things started. The plan was to initially kick things off after March Madness, but we all know what happened after that. A few months later, we are ready to roll for this afternoon. We'll see you at 1 PM!
