Chipotle Now Officially Offering Delivery (It's Just Really Expensive)

BI - Chipotle will now deliver your burrito — for a price. The restaurant chain told investors it has signed a deal with delivery start-up Postmates. Postmates, a service that guarantees delivery of goods within one hour, will now transport Chipotle in the 67 markets where it operates.  But Jason Del Rey at Re/code reveals the catch to Chipotle delivery — it’s expensive.  “I just tried to order an $8 Chipotle burrito from Postmates and was told it would cost $20 with delivery and service fees,” Del Rey, who is based in New York City, writes.

I don’t get this at alllll. Why have some places figured out how to do delivery, but then you have Chipotle that can’t figure out how to do it correctly? You hire a few more immigrants, pay them minimum wage, have them use the little station in the back where they do the online orders, and off the burritos go. None of this 3rd party app shit. None of this 12 dollar delivery fee shit. You think we finally have life in 2015 all figured out and then nope. But I do respect the hell out of the fact they told poor people to go fuck themselves. Ain’t no poor people gonna be using this. It’s exclusive for those of us who have that expendable income. So in that regard I respect their hustle. Gotta spend money to make money and by making money I mean not moving from my couch, which is pretty much the same thing to me at this point.
