Alabama Students Are Allegedly Holding Coronavirus Parties Where They Invite Infected Students And Then Award Who Gets Sick First

I'm all for having a good time in college. I'd say I encourage it! This move, though? Come on, guys! I know it's the SEC and nobody wants Bama, but I can guarantee you COVID-19 ain't afraid of the Tide. 

SOURCE-Students in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, are reportedly throwing “COVID parties” with their friends and gambling on who will get sick first, according to local officials.

City council member Sonya McKinstry testified Wednesday that a series of previously reported parties were all part of a morbid game that included intentionally inviting COVID-positive students in an attempt to intentionally contract the deadly virus.

This is all alleged at this moment but did come from a City Council member. They did not implicitly say it was the University of Alabama students, but a COVID-19 party? In Tuscaloosa? Where students gamble on who gets sick first? That has the University of Alabama written all over it. Think this guy wouldn't go to one of these COVID-19 parties?

I'd love to know how they found COVID-positive students. Just by word of mouth? 

“They put money in a pot and they try to get COVID. Whoever gets COVID first gets the pot. It makes no sense,” she said.

Tuscaloosa City Fire Chief Randy Smith briefed the council on these parties earlier this week, saying that authorities thought students’ intentional gambling on virus transmission “was kind of a rumor at first,” but added, “We did some additional research … not only did the doctors’ offices help confirm it but the state confirmed they also had the same information.”

Talk about some absolute psychos. I get the death rate is incredibly low for 18-25-year-olds, but guys….the college football season is on the line!!!! Stop fucking around.
