The Battle of the Green Couch: Jets Destroy Depleted Dolphins
On Friday's episode of Pardon My Take, I deemed Sunday's game between the Dolphins and Jets, "The Battle of the Green Couch." It was my team vs. Billy's team at MetLife Stadium, and we had to go check out the scene at the Meadowlands on a sunny, fall afternoon.
We were fortunate enough to get pregame field passes, which usually includes fans coming down to the first row to try to get autographs from the players. But in this case, Jets and Dolphins fans wanted a signature from… Billy?
Before heading to our seats, we saw a familiar face on the field: Dan Marino. Was he interested in another appearance on Pardon My Take?
It was worth a shot. Anyways, the game started off in wacky form: a safety right off the bat. That included an injury to Dolphins QB Teddy Bridgewater…
There is a lot of down time when going to NFL games due to TV timeouts. When you're at home watching Red Zone, you obviously don't realize that. During a stoppage, Billy mentioned how he was interested in potentially pursuing another career down the road:
In the end, rookie QB Skylar Thompson did not bring the magic to the Meadowlands, and the Jets won the game 40-17…
It's a shame that the Dolphins were not at full strength for this one, but credit to the Jets: they took advantage when they needed to. Both teams are now at 3-2 on the season, with New York in a much better spot at the moment.
