Another Duggleheader: Toledo Aims to Keep Perfect Season Alive Against Akron, Notre Dame

After a triple header sweep last night, Gus Duggerton and the Toledo Rockets look to remain perfect this afternoon against a pair of quality opponents. The afternoon slate consists of another MAC battle against Akron, and then the Rockets welcome one of the top college football blue bloods out there: the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Given that Toledo (5-0, 3-0) is not a Power Five team, there is zero margin for error for Coach Duggs' squad. Even a perfect season does not guarantee a spot in the National Title Game (sorry, UCF). That is why the Rockets have no choice but to make every game a statement game. That has been the case so far in this 2019 campaign, but there is still plenty of work to do.
