Director Joel Schumacher Has Passed Away
"Joel Schumacher, costume designer-turned-director of films including “St. Elmo’s Fire,” “The Lost Boys” and “Falling Down,” as well as two “Batman” films, died in New York City on Monday morning after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 80."
A lot of people unfortunately think of the two Batman movies when Schumacher comes to mind, but he directed a lot of extremely good films. 'St. Elmo's Fire', 'The Lost Boys' immediately come to mind as well as one of my favorite movies 'Falling Down'. Not to mention 'A Time to Kill', 'Phone Booth' and 'The Client'.
It's kind of crazy that, without him, we may not have had actors like Colin Farrell or Matthew McConaughey. The world is a worse place without him, and he will be missed. Thoughts and prayers for his friends and family.
