Top 5 Emojis Used By Each MLB Fan Base On Twitter

This was pretty cool, on FanGraphs they put out an article showing us the top 5 emojis used by fans of all the MLB teams. There were also a bunch of graphs that looked like they were those earthquake measuring machines that I didn’t understand. Some were pretty funny, others were just boring.

Top 5 emoji MLB

Emoji part 2

Atlanta Emoji

Atlanta’s was pretty spot on. They’re all ready for Opening Day and then WHOOPS. Trade their best player and Melvin “Don’t Call Me BJ” Upton to the Padres the night before the season starts. They then start to cry, which turns into the funny crying emoji, with them thinking “Nah we’ll be fine. We’ve traded everyone away in the offseason, but signed a 31-year old with a bad neck!” They give themselves the a-ok sign and act like it’s all good, but the last emoji shows how they really feel. Poor Braves chirp crew, I’m sure 97% of these emojis were them.

Baltimore Emoji

Baltimore’s were pretty predictable. Baseball for everyone excited about the year, heart eyes when they saw the O’s have their way with the Rays. Clapping emoji all throughout the game, because not much went wrong for the Birds. Praising hands was probably anytime they showed Adam Jones, Manny, or Buck. And a simple happy, smiling face for the first win of 2015.

Chicago emoji

Cubs started off the year on ESPN with the entire world watching, except for people in the outfield bleachers. We all know about the construction out there, most of us didn’t know about the construction in the bathrooms, causing people to have to piss in cups and all that good stuff. 100% the first two faces were about pissing in cups. The “oh shit” face when they realize they couldn’t go to the bathroom. Followed by the crying laughing face when they were done and couldn’t believe they had to piss in a cup in the year 2015 at a baseball game, or when they saw someone drink the piss thinking it was a beer.

White Sox emoji

White Sox fans were obv excited for the 2015 season, big expectations. Could win the division, hence the heart eyes when the game started, that quickly turned them into a black hole, and eventually leading them to want to burn the entire team or stadium down, only 1 game into the season. They then turned happy when they realized Detroit will choke like they always do, and the Royals will be lucky to win 80 games.

Miami Emoji

Miami is obviously a younger crowd, probably lots of kids on Spring Break, and a lot of black twitter just throwing hundos everywhere. It’s such a great emoji. The crying face probably happened when they realized they have a billion and a half dollar retractable dome stadium, but can still have a rain delay. The city followed buy the strong arm was probably after Giancarlo took BP and hit a ball to another city.

Brewers emoji

Rough day for sports fans in Milwaukee yesterday. All excited to see Ryan Braun and Carlos Gomez take on the Rockies, only to get their shit stomped. That’s okay, they cried about it until the Wisconsin game last night, threw up some basketball emojis, we all know how that ended. I’m sure there were a bunch of gun and knife emjois after that. #PrayforWisco #PrayforB1GCat #Prayinghands

Yankee emoji

Cool emojis yankee fans! These were so predictable That shade of blue doesn’t even match the team, and I don’t need Darren Rovell to tell me that. The crying face is 100% when Tanaka got yanked after going only 4 innings. The heart eyes and praising hands were when Yankee fans realized Duke played that day too!

Philly emoji

Philly man, Philly. They showed up. Nothing pretty here. Crying laughing was probably when Pedroia went yaya early, the upset face soon followed when they realized the game and season were over. 55 wins for them is a real possibility.

Nats Emoji

Nationals have HUGE expectations this season, and rightfully so. They were cruising through the game, Mets couldn’t get a hit. Looked like an easy win. Emojis start off with your normal baseball, and heart eyes, a red heart for good measure. Heart eyes were for Scherzer too, guy killed it yesterday. Crying laughing was when they watched Bartolo at the plate. Crying for real eyes soon came after and I’m guessing this was then Ian Desmond called off Uggla for a ball that he had no right to try and catch, essentially costing them the game.

Best of all was San Diego’s emojis.

San Diego Emoji

No idea what is going on here, they’re all clapping “We traded for EVERYONE in the offseason!!! Paper Champs!” That little happy face, a pointing finger is probably “Who is that guy? Oh we traded for him yesterday? His name is MELVIN?” Crying laughing was when they remembered they had to go against regular season Clayton Kershaw, and who knows about the monkey? Rally monkey sighting for Padres fans? Who knows.
