It’s not like this game decides what league has home field for the World Series or anything. It’s not like “it counts” or whatever.
Look, I don’t think anyone has a problem with Jeter starting. The fans vote, the fans love him, he’s respected by almost everyone. But nobody should be putting a ball on a tee in a game that decides home field in the World Series. That’s the issue here. That’s the problem. It’s not that Jeets started, it’s that he started in a game with so much implications riding on it. It’s that Wainwright still can’t have the mindset to take it seriously. They need to change this shit ASAP.
