One More Quick #Pickem While Everyone Is Eating Dinner
It's well after 8 pm so the kiddies are in bed, dinner is in our bellies and the crack wine is flowing free. Let's have a little fun, shall we?
TheHoopsTime IG page threw a nice twist in this one. This is the Iron Man #Pickem. I still have my hypothetical $15 (as is mandated by law in my contract) but I'm picking from the guys that led the league in minutes this past season. I think there's only one correct answer.
SF LeBron James $5 (Remaining: $10)
He's the best player here. That's the only justification. I like to find my high dollar guy to build the team around and whaddaya know, LeBron James costs just five times as much as Harrison Barnes. By any measurement of legal tender anywhere, this is a steal. When you factor in the number of years LeBron has been playing, as well as the number of children that he has? It's an easy decision. And by "easy decision" I mean, Rich Paul was going to break my legs if I didn't tell you how old LeBron was or how many kids he has.

PF Anthony Davis $5 (Remaining: $5)
I feel like Rob Pelinka.... only I have a fucking clue. And I don't look like Chris Traeger. Conveniently, there are no Bucks or Clippers here because they're too busy beating teams by too much to have anyone lead the league in minutes or load managing. PATHETIC. I'll take Bron/AD and with the remaining $5 I guarantee you that I can come away with better running mates than Rajon Rondo and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
PG Ben Simmons $3 (Remaining: $2)
Call this one a hunch but Ben Simmons will play for the Lakers before his next contract is up. I'm just getting a jump on it here. He's already in LA most of the time. He's already usually hanging around with other Klutch klients (AD, Bron, Rich Paul). He's already been referred to as Tall Rondo. And short Rondo had the Lakers with the best league in the West.
SG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander $1 (Remaining: $1)
Imagine if the Lakers replaced Avery Bradley with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. If you haven't had much of a chance to watch SGA out in OKC, just picture if Avery Bradley was younger, taller, more athletic, cheaper, a better shooter, passer, ball handler, defender, dresser and human being. That's my baby boy Shai and I got him for $1. The real winner here is me.
C Nikola Vucevic $1 (Remaining: $0)
The Lakers like to keep another "traditional" big on the floor with AD/Bron and so do I. I'm turning all of the Javale/Dwight minutes into Vucevic. He's not the defender or athlete that those guys are, but he's a much better shooter/scorer/passer and can hold his own on the glass.
