Vin Diesel Says Furious 7 Is Gonna Win The Oscar For Best Picture... He's Probably Right

(Source) It’s pretty much a given that Furious 7 is going to dominate at the box office when it hits theaters April 3, but Vin Diesel is predicting a different type of win for the hugely anticipated addition to the billion-dollar franchise. “Universal is going to have the biggest movie in history with this movie,” Diesel told Variety in a recent interview. “It will probably win best picture at the Oscars, unless the Oscars don’t want to be relevant ever.”

Who’s gonna tell Vin Diesel he’s wrong? Anyone? Because he isn’t. If Furious 7 is even half as good as Fast 5 then it should be the front runner for Best Picture at Bovada. Movies are supposed to be about having fun, right? Supposed to be about sitting in the theater with your popcorn and Bunch-A-Crunch mixie and just having the goddamn time of your life. Well that’s exactly what the Fast and Furious franchise is, two hours of edge of your seat fun. What would people rather have bullshit like The Artist win? Oh you’re such a good movie because you’re in black and white and don’t talk! So artsy! What a performance! Fuck that. Fast 5 was a million times the movie The Artist was. Did you even see all the explosions and shit? How about when they dragged a safe all around Brazil? It was fucking outstanding. Well this year I’m sure The Academy will realize their mistake and make things right. At the very least they should present a lifetime achievement award to both the franchise and Paul Walker then  change the event from The Oscars to The Walkers. That’s honestly the least we could all do.
