Biggest No Brainer Ever: 'Dave' Has Been Renewed For Season 2 After Becoming FX's Most Watched Comedy Series Ever

Deadline

Fueled by strong digital viewing, FXX’s new comedy Dave has been a breakout. And now the series co-created by and starring Dave Burd has been renewed for a second season, which will premiere in 2021.

The recently concluded first season of Dave has officially become FX Networks’ most-watched comedy series ever with an average episodic audience of 5.32 million (and growing) total viewers to-date across linear, VOD and streaming. It eclipsed the previous FX record holder Atlanta, which averaged 5.2 million total viewers on all platforms in its first season.

The biggest no brainer in the history of no brainers: Dave is coming back for season 2. As if there was any doubt right? Might as well renew it for 10 seasons while we're at it. I think we've all seen what Lil Dicky can do when given complete control over a TV show and it's the green light from here on out. Season 1 of 'Dave' was FX's most watched comedy series EVER. No big deal. If you have not watched it yet please do so now. You are literally doing nothing else with your life. It's on Hulu and the FX app and they're short 30 minute episodes. The first two episodes might be a tad slow compared to the rest, but episode 3 is some of the funniest shit I've ever seen.

And the garage scene...

One of the best seasons of a show I've seen in a long, long time. So yeah let's do it all over again with season 2 in 2021! Fuck that's a long time away.

Hopefully they bring Ally back. She posted this on IG after the final episode and it kind of felt like a heartfelt thank you and good bye. I hope he releases their auto-tuned clip before they left for the wedding on a full song.

Obligatory Breakfast Club freestyle to close it out.
