To me, this isn't that big of a story. There was a storyline that Taulia was the better Tagovailoa QB since his high school days and it appears that nonsense is almost dead. From practice reports and his play, Taulia would have been a 3/low 4-star recruit if it wasn't for his last name.
Why is he transferring? Mac Jones has a firm hold on the Alabama starting QB role and true freshman Bryce Young, 247Sports #1 player in the class of 2020, is the future of the program.
What does the future hold for Taulia? He'll be sought after in the transfer portal. Outside of JT Daniels, he's the best QB in the portal right now. Although his talent may have been overblown, he's still a guy most programs would love to have. My first thought was Miami, so the Tagovailoa family could move down to South Beach and make sure Tua lives with his family for the rest of his life. There are a lot of rumors that he will end up at FIU:
Maryland has been rumored as well:
Of course, then there is Oklahoma, who will forever be linked to any QB that hits the transfer portal. Lincoln Riley appears to be all set with Spencer Rattler for the next 2 years.
Taulia loved his visit at LSU before he committed to Alabama:
It will be interesting to see where Taulia ends up.
