As Stan Bowman's Last Order Of Business I Would Like Him To Sign This Defenseman Called The Finnish Bobby Orr

A Finnish Bobby Orr? Maybe that is an exaggeration, but numbers don't lie. He finished this KHL season with a casual 49 points in 60 games and his highlights look like this

A kid who flew under the radar and has developed slowly in Europe before EXPLODING the last couple of years. He is a left shot. They say he can skate, he has a good brain, he can generate offense out of his own end, and he has added enough strength and experience to be able to defend well enough. That is a good combo of skills and something the Blackhawks DESPERATELY still need on the left side. You might say that the Blackhawks have too many defensemen as it is. Part of that thinking is correct. The other part is that they don't have enough defensemen, especially on the left side. Bring this dude in, give him a fair shake, and maybe your defense next year looks okay if he can play and the roster fills out like this

Keith-Boqvist

deHaan-Mitchell

Lehtonen-Murphy

Seabrook in the press box and Maatta on the first flight out of town. That doesn't look horrible on paper if you're an optimist by nature(me) and assume a smooth transition for some and good health for others.

To Bowman's credit, his hockey ops department has worked very well as long as he is an ocean away from it. The European network has done a great job of finding players over the years that can come in and help the Hawks. Panarin, Kempny, Kubalik, etc. Maybe Lehtonen can be added to that mix. The Hawks need reinforcements and you can never have too many defensemen. Make it happen, Stan.
