Falcons, Apparently Not Horny to Trade Up, Make Questionable Selection of A.J. Terrell at No. 16

After hearing seemingly every rumor possible about the Falcons trying to trade up — as far as No. 2 — in the first round of the NFL Draft, they stood pat at No. 16 — which in itself is fine. But they took ... Clemson DB A.J. Terrell?

Look, I'm sure A.J. is a great guy, but really? It seems to be an accepted fact that Atlanta could have even traded back several picks and still had Terrell on the board, kf that's really who they wanted. But this seems to be a rushed selection at a position the team thought to be of need rather than assessing all possible options to make the team better.

Obviously I haven't studied tape on Terrell like the Falcons' scouts — hopefully — have, but the gut reaction to this pick is not great. And not that Twitter would love anything the often memed Falcons did, but the reaction to this pick was particularly bad.

I mean, CeeDee Lamb was still on the board when Atlanta picked. That pick was definitely in demand from other teams. or hell, just go take that stud and have the best receiving corps in the NFL.

Whatever. I hope Terrell becomes a great player. We're on to the second round.
