Tonight The 2011 Bruins Are Watching Game 7 Of The Stanley Cup With Us

When Conor says "entire" here, can that really mean entire? It can't, right? Tim Thomas is gonna join as well? I find that very hard to believe, he just saw most of those guys for the first time since this season and I doubt he believes in WiFi or would let video cameras into his home. So I'm just gonna assume it means "entire minus the obvious" but that would be wild if Tank joins.

Anyway, this is going to be AWESOME. The 2011 Bruins Cup Run is probably the most fun I've ever had in my entire life. I was interning at Barstool New York and taking a Mega Bus home every weekend to watch games and crash on friends' couches. I could barely afford the bus ticket, would grab two Four Lokos for the ride so I showed up in time for puck drop good and lubed up, and it was just amazing. To date it's still the only parade I've attended and that's one of the best days of my life. Beautiful sunny day and I started it by chugging warm Heinekens at 7 AM in a South Station bathroom, using one hand to pinch my nose because it reeked of shit in there. A bathroom, who would've thunk it?

I'm a "hockey guy" so I'm biased but that 2011 team to me personified Boston more than any of our other championship teams. Most have an argument, the 2001 Patriots and 2013 Red Sox come to mind, but the 2011 Bruins were just perfect. They had characters, a journeyman in net, and a chip on their shoulder. They were both bullies and underdogs. But no battle since WWII comes to mind with such a clear divide between the good guys and the bad guys like the 2011 Stanley Cup. It was scumbags vs heroes. White collar vs blue collar. Prep school vs public. Whatever you want to call it, it was the guys who had already been crowned versus the dogs who weren't going to let up.

And tonight we get to watch game 7 with them.

Oh, and it will be "unfiltered" commentary from them so "viewer discretion is advised." SIGN. ME. UP.
