The Sequel To 'Venom' Officially Has Its Title And A Delay

(Variety) "Sony’s “Venom” sequel — officially titled “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” — has delayed its big screen debut. The film was expected to hit theaters Oct. 2, 2020, and will instead launch eight months later on June 25, 2021.

“Venom” occupied the spot previously vacated by Robert Pattinson’s “The Batman,” which Warner Bros. recently moved back to Oct. 1, 2021."

'Venom', while by no means a top-tier comic book movie, was still a pleasant surprise (Full review HERE). Tom Hardy did great Tom Hardy things, and the only thing it was missing was a little more cohesiveness and a more compelling villain. That villain was teased in the above post credit, with Woody Harrelson set to play Carnage.

Andy Serkis was also on board to direct the sequel, which now has a title to match the villain. There was a lot of corny ways to incorporate the name into the title, and I think this toes the line just well enough. The delay was expected and necessary to repeat the financial success of the original, which is fair. The delay also means that Spider-Man 3 will release only a month after Venom 2. I'm not saying that tie-ins should finally be put in place, but they should.

Also, drop Eminem from the sequel. Please..... I beg u Sony.
