Christian Ponder has a bruised tricep injury 2 hours before game time? Wait but didn’t they just show him throwing balls in practice like any normal warm up? How could that possibly be? Why isn’t he playing? I bet he’s going to get MURDERED by the media for being soft and not a good leader. Oh he didn’t? You mean no one said a word? That’s so weird, its almost like he just married someone who works for ESPN or something. What a bizarre coincidence.
Oh RGIII is playing with a sprained MCL? Isn’t that the same injury Cutler had? Well then why is the entire world saying RGIII has no business being in this game? Why is everyone screaming bloody murder for Kirk Cousins to replace him? I thought you’re supposed to play with a sprained MCL? I thought if you don’t you’re a bad leader and a malcontent?
So which one is it? Because now I’m flat out confused. Where was MJD? Where was Kerry Rhodes? Did they all give Ponder a pass? I mean that would make sense right considering the fact they’re not doctors and have no idea what pain someone is in right? Deion is on the record for questioning heart, I mean that’s his job “folks”, he questions heart. So where were you Saturday night Deion? Did his TV not work? #Truth
And what about yesterday? I mean everyone was an expert on Knee injuries 2 years ago. Where was Kirk Morrison? RGIII was clearly hurt right? Everyone agrees on that. And everyone agrees that he shouldn’t have been playing. Literally everyone. So how in the world was he standing? You’re not supposed to be able to do that.
Or Ross Tucker? Where was he? He said it himself in 2011, he’s never stood after a knee injury. I guess this one was different? I guess RGIII’s knee wasn’t really injured at least according to Dr Ross Tucker even though he also thought he shouldn’t be playing. That’s weird.
So I guess I think I understand it now. Ponder was doing what was right for the team because his injury meant he wasn’t at 100%. RGIII should have come out of the game because he was clearly injured, prone to further injury (WHICH ENDED UP HAPPENING), and was not giving his team the best chance to win, yet Cutler was a bad teammate and a pussy 2 years ago. I think I got this. Everyone is MURDERING Shanahan today for not taking RGIII out of the game, yet 2 years ago the exact opposite happened.

So I guess the lesson we learned here is that if you marry an ESPN sideline reporter like Ponder or are in a million ads with an over the top cheesy smile/enthusiasm and give the media thousands of soundbites like RGIII, then you get a pass. Just the media being the media. Having an ax to grind against certain players and making heroes out of others for the exact same thing. Now someone help me down off of my soapbox.

Washington’s turf has now ruined RGIII and AP’s knee, nice to see we don’t have the only organization in the NFL that can’t correctly sod a field. Place looked like Soldier Field East yesterday.
