Here Is My Sicilian Mom's Bomb Ass Amazing Spaghetti And Meatballs Recipe With A SECRET Ingredient

So I put this up on my Instagram and twitter yesterday because I made it for Hank and myself for Easter dinner but I decided to share it even further during these hard times. Let me note... I DO NOT WANT YOUR INPUT ON WHAT I NEED TO CHANGE OR NEED TO ADD. That is the point of a family recipe. It is your own family's recipe with their own little twist and turns and that does not mean you need to add your input because we will not listen. Ever. Take it or leave it but it is absolutely delicious and I swear they are the best meatballs you will ever have. I have never sounded more Italian but here we go...

THE SAUCE RECIPE:

Two big cans of crushed tomatoes (my mom suggests Tuttorosso)

One small can of crushed tomatoes

Cut up half an onion throw it in

Cut up 3 garlic cloves throw it in

Salt, pepper, garlic powder... throw that shit in. (my mom didn't give me exact measurements for that so just use your eye and what your heart tells you)

Let it boil... then once it comes to a boil let it simmer for 2-3 hours

MEATBALL RECIPE:

1 lb of ground beef

1/2 cup of Pecorino Romano cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Salt, pepper, garlic powder (I would say I did about 1 tsp of each)

1 egg

2 ounces of milk

4 ounces of red wine (the most important secret ingredient) (any red wine is good)

mix it all together with your hands (important) roll into balls and then place into the oven on 375 for about 30 mins. When that's done take your meatballs and let them cook in your sauce for however much time is left for your sauce to cook. If you don't want them in your sauce thats fine too they taste just as delicious right outside of the oven

SPAGHETTI RECIPE:

Just grab a box of spaghetti and cook how you would. I'm not out here making fresh pasta

And there it is folks. The best homemade spaghetti and meatballs recipe you will find from a true Italian family. Some were asking if my mom would be mad about this but she is truly the nicest woman in the world and wants the best for everyone and was extremely happy to share her recipe. (I know everyone says that about their moms but I'm telling you if you met this woman you'd understand)

Doesn't even care just wants to compliment me.

I also have watched her make this every Sunday for about 15 years of my life so I know the ingredients she gave are correct and know that they make for an absolutely delicious meal so enjoy!
