The Revival Have Officially Been Released By WWE

This feels like a looooooong time coming. We've been hearing forever that Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder - known together as The Revival - have been unhappy in the WWE. I think it was first reported that they requested their release last January, right before they won the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships, which might've made them stick around a little longer - but once it was again reported earlier this year, it became pretty clear that this relationship was over.

It's probably a tough at this point to come up under Triple H in NXT - selling out arenas for TakeOver events, putting on instant classic matches more often than not, and hearing the loudest reactions North American wrestling has gotten in decades - and then having to work under Vince McMahon who will literally strip you of all that made you likable or worth caring about in the first place...and usually your last name too.

According to SEScoops, there's already a bit of a trademark war going on between The Revival and the WWE...

Dash Wilder has trademarked the name “Cash Wheeler” for wrestling purposes. WWE has filed for several trademarks related to the team as well. These include “the Mechanics” “No Flips, Just Fists” and more. The Revival has filed trademarks for “Shatter Machine” “Say Yeah” and others.

Thanks to the back-and-forth social media "feud" that The Young Bucks and The Revival have carried on throughout the past few years, and All Elite Wrestling's focus on tag team wrestling, I think it's safe to say we could be seeing them on Wednesday nights as soon as the world starts turnin' again. There's always this tweet from a few years ago, as well...

When Dash and Dawson are firing on all cylinders, there are few teams in the world as good as them. I'd even go as far as saying that I think their 2-Out-Of-3-Falls match against Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: Toronto is the greatest tag match I've ever seen. Check that out on the WWE Network if you haven't seen it.

Oh yeah, and never forget when Dash stood up for Bret Hart and socked his attacker in the mouth at the Hall of Fame…

POW RIGHT IN THE KISSAH!
