Not Enough Bad News In Your Life? Cheer Up. Radiation Levels Are Skyrocketing Due To Fires In Chernobyl's Exclusion Zone

Admittedly my only real knowledge about the Chernobyl disaster is from watching the meltdown happen on HBO's hit mini-series. It was a fantastic show that sometimes felt like it wasn't real life. I watched elements of the show and thought, wait a minute. You mean to tell me these Russian mother fuckers just upped and canceled everyday life in Russia because an unmitigated disaster was going to overwhelm the populace? The government knew and kinda undersold the danger at first until the bodies lined the hospitals and life wasn't the same for decades? Feels fake, but... somehow it was real. 

Oh well. At least that can never happen now. We have too much technology and scientific expertise to let that kinda shit fly. Especially here. We can all take solace in that. I know I do. Anyway, here's Wonderwall.
