You Wanna Get Nuts? Let's Get Nuts: Bob Huggins Wants This Year's NCAA Tournament To Start The 2020-21 Season

[Enquirer] - "Let's face it, there's a great chance we're not going to have college football. Putting that many people together is going to be rough. I wouldn't want to have to make that decision. So, why don't we start the season off with the NCAA Tournament?" Huggins said. "(The NCAA) can get its money and distribute it to the schools. It solves a lot of problems. ... They know who was in it and who was going to play who. They know where we were going to play. What, it's going to take three weekends? Big deal. Really, kids aren't going to miss class that much. You're going to basically play on the weekends. ... It would affect the low-majors and mid-majors - I think - to a degree. Generally speaking, their NCAA representative is their conference tournament winner. Heck, let them have their own tournament. Let them play their conference tournament."

YOU WANNA GET NUTS? Let's get nuts! That's at least what Bob Huggins wants to do and you know what? Fuck it. At this point I'm game for anything. Two NCAA Tournaments in one year? Why not? Well, obviously the fact that a majority of players will be playing pro careers of some sort that won't stop Huggins. He says bring them back, which I'm sure NBA teams will 100% be cool with. They always work hand in hand with the NCAA.

Let's address some other problems here too. Huggins says we knew who was in it and that's simply not true. We only had about half of the automatic bids handed out. What if someone in the major conference pulled a surprising run and won their conference? What if Dayton didn't win the A-10 Tournament? Shit like that has happened before and could have happened in 2020.  Although Huggins randomly says let them go ahead and play their own conference tournaments. This is starting to read a bit like the scene in Baseketball:

Listen, no one loves the NCAA Tournament more than me. Shit, it's a large reason as to why I even have this job. But you simply can't play the 2020 NCAA Tournament in October. As much as I'd kill to see a tournament being played, it'd be impossible to get the same teams put together. An NBA team isn't going to let Obi Toppin come back to college hoops and play 6 games. Seems pretty important to have the NPOY in this Tournament since Dayton was likely a 1 seed.

That said Huggy saying 'well they won't miss that much class' is laugh out loud funny. Mostly because the NCAA will still make everyone pretend we're talking about student-athletes instead of athletes that are students. He even brings up all the money that the NCAA would make.
