Obviously Terry Bradshaw Did A Commercial For Red Man Chew When He Played For The Steelers

The 1970's were a time of groove, the Steelers dominating the NFL, and athletes being the leading man in tobacco marketing campaigns.

In case you didn't know, and I'm sure you could guess, Terry Bradshaw had a deal with Red Man Chewing Tobacco back in those days. The two are an even better combo than Baker Mayfield and headbands (Cowherd voice).

"When I wanna pass," Bradshaw says as he rolls to the right, "I go to the pocket. And when I want a good chew, I got to my pouch of Red Man Chewing Tobacco."

"To me," Bradshaw continues, "the flavor is the best and it outlasts the rest."

The Louisiana hillbilly just being a good ol' boy and throwing in a dip of tobaccuh, as Bradshaw pronounces it.

Pretty incredible how quickly we've gone from athletes advertising for these products to both chewing tobacco and cigarettes being pretty widely frowned upon.

You go from Terry Bradshaw winning Super Bowls back then marketing chew to Tom Brady winning Super Bowls in this era who won't even think about drinking a smoothie with too much yogurt in it let alone putting tobacco in his body and MUCH LESS marketing for it.

Philip Rivers would 1000% be the candidate to be the spokesman for a modern today tobacco campaign. The southern charm and drawl along with all the hours in the film room make him the perfect "chew" guy. He almost already talks like he has a chew in. I can just see him wearing a Joe Exotic type jacket with his bolo tie on at a podium for a post game presser when he turns to the camera to advocate for how ______ chewing tobacco helps him "take the edge off the field and at home".

A close second would be Gardner Minshew. Don't really have to explain this one at all.
