The Rams Cut Todd Gurley Less Than 20 Months After They Signed Him To A $60 Million Extension ($45 Million Guaranteed)

Damn, did the Rams really have to go with the period there? Because that period made it seem extra cold. Maybe they got upset when they couldn't get Deshaun Watson and JJ Watt for Gurley from Bill O'Brien? At least Gurley is taking everything in stride.

Anyway, the NFL continues to go full tilt when the sports world needed it to most and for that I'm thankful. I'm sure the NFL media, analytics departements, and football experts on Twitter will react very rationally to the Rams letting Gurley go less than two years after signing him to a $60 million extension and one year after watching CJ Anderson turn into the clear RB1 during LA's Super Bowl run.

Let this be a lesson to GMs out there. Don't draft a running back early! Or at least one with a devastating knee injury months before the draft!

Good thing my beloved Giants' stud running back drafted in the first round isn't eligible for a contract extension soon!

We should have known this was coming considering Gurley put himself on the radar of the one person's radar you never want to be on.

I doubt Portnoy is popping an Ace of Spades bottle on Gurley's Rams career grave.

Don't feel bad for the Rams either considering they gave Gurley a monster contract despite him saying this:

Q: What would you list as your dislikes?
A: Driving. Waking up early. And I hate dogs. I love cats, though. Cats are so cool. Actually, I’m probably gonna get some this year.
Q: Sorry, you’re gonna get a bunch of cats?
A: Two, at least, so they can, you know, conversate or whatever. I mean, how would I feel if I was a cat and someone bought me and just left me by myself for like 20 years?
Q: So, you’re the Crazy Cat Lady.
A: Yeah, I’ll be Cat Dude.

Red. Flag. City. However, something tells me Todd is going to be happy no matter where his next team is or how little cartilage he has in his knee.

Same goes for everyone that had Gurley on their fantasy team in 2017 in one of the most destructive playoff runs these eyes have ever seen.

Heroes get remembered but legends never die.

At least the Rams quarterback that may or may not be their longterm answer at the position is coming in cheap this year!
