Grading the Newest Sex Scandal Teacher
New Jersey – At Columbia High School in Maplewood, students said Nicole Dufault had a reputation for being a nice, easygoing and understanding teacher. “She was basically everybody’s favorite teacher,” one female student said… Other students, however, indicated there had been rumors about sexual activity between Dufault and the students. Some students claim a video has been circulating at the school that allegedly depicts Dufault having sex with a student… Dufault’s attorney, Timothy Smith, said he does not know whether such a video exists. Dufault, 35, of Caldwell, pleaded not guilty today to charges related to three victims. After that hearing, prosecutors announced that Dufault is accused of sexually assaulting two more male students. Authorities allege Dufault had sex with the students on school property and in her car on multiple occasions. All five alleged victims are 15-year-old boys who were students at the high school… Smith has described Dufault – a single mother with two small children – as a compassionate and effective teacher… On Twitter, some users were critical of a hashtag — “#FreeMsDufault” – created in response to the allegations
You know, Grading Sex Scandal Teachers, like law enforcement, is a delicate balancing act. On the one hand, you want to take swift and decisive action, because justice delayed is justice denied. But on the other, you can’t be guilty of a rush to judgement. You need to go in knowing you have all your facts straight and get it right the first time. Take Nicole Dufault, for instance. I’ve had her in my in box since the end of last week. But between media whore opportunities, other blogs that had to be written and a weekend trip to NH to officiate the wedding of longtime Stoolie Alicia, there simply wasn’t time to address this one. The good news is that when Nicole first hit the news, we were only aware of three kids, and by the time I got to her today we’re up to five. So instead of her merely being a multiple student seducer, she’s an out & out serial banger. Doing the math, her story became 67% better by not rushing in too soon. And that’s a win for all of us. #FreeMsDufault! #FreeMsDufault!
The Grades:
Looks: I want to say that she is the dictionary definition of “average.” Like every man, woman and child reading this knows a half dozen chicks who look exactly like her. And judging by this picture she’s all about that bass, no treble. But we’re judging her against 35 year old mothers-of-two from New Jersey who serial blow kids in school and her car. And by that standard she’s at least a Grade: C+.
Moral Compass/Bad Judgment: She’s got kids of her own, she’s allowing herself get quintuple-teamed, and obviously has a thing for 15 year olds. The hustle, drive, heart and desire here is just off the charts. A solid Grade: A.
Intangibles: Nicole’s lawyer denied the existence of the sex video with all the sincerity of Steve Bisciotti saying the Ravens never saw the Ray Rice video. That thing has to be real. No wonder she’s the most popular teacher in the school. Grade: A
Overall: B. The bench just keeps getting deeper and there’ll be some tough cuts coming up in December.
