First of all, I had no idea that Alex Trebek writes some of the questions. Second of all, frigging Alex Trebek, this is why he's an international treasure. With just the right blend of erudite intellectualism and relatable, common man appeal. Whenever they do a sports category, you can just see in his eyes how painful it is for him to watch these super geniuses struggle with stuff the rest of us learned when we were 10 years old. And you can tell this time he did everything he could to dumb it down for these people who can tell you everything about 19th century Russian literature or Renaissance artist, but would be pretty useless on your bar trivia team.

Still, like Alex said, three out of five is a hell of a lot better than they did with the last football category.
