Barb Just Became The Most Hated Person In The Bachelor Universe (And Maybe The Whole World)

What. The. Fuck. Just. Happened.

Listen I know The Bachelor is prone to hyperbole. Literally every single season Chris Harrison says it's going to be the most dramatic season ever because it's funny and sometimes true. Well tonight it was true. The season wasn't really all that dramatic but the Final Rose we just watched was the most dramatic thing I've ever seen. Pete's mom Barb stole the show in all the wrong ways. In that clip above she literally said that all of Peter's friends and family are rooting for his relationship with Madison to fail. She said that, out loud, in front of Pete and Madison, in front of a live studio audience. It was MADNESS. Normally the mom of The Bachelor is nothing but supportive of whoever their son picks. Not Barb, she wanted to make the whole night about her. She wanted to stomp her feet and throw a temper tantrum like a child because her son didn't pick the girl she liked. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh. HEY LADY IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU! It's about Pete and Madison. Grow up.

I've never seen a fall from grace quite like Barbs. All season long people were waiting with baited breath (similarly to Colton's fence jump) about who the hell she was crying about in all the previews. It was a fun running joke but now? Now I look back on those previews with anger. Anger that she was crying over wanting Pete to pick Hannah Ann. She wanted it so bad that she refused to accept the fact that Pete picked Madison and made the live after show all about herself. Crazy insane behavior. Just be supportive and keep it moving, Barb. That's what parents do.

AND THEN when Chris Harrison finally asked Pete's dad (a hostage for most of the show and likely his life) what he thinks of all this and Barb whispered to him in Spanish and allegedly said, "Say something bad too, help me"

The whole thing was a complete and total shit show (and admittedly, great television). We barely got any time with Pete and Madison because Barb took up a whole hour to herself. Then Chris Harrison brought out Clare the next Bachelorette for a full 20 seconds and the show was over. I'm outta breath. At first I didn't really care about whether or not Pete and Madison work out in the end but after Barb's performance tonight I hope they're married for 300 years.
