Justin Gaethje Is Reportedly The Next Opponent For Conor McGregor And The Fight Could Happen This Summer

After months of mostly ignored and cringeworthy shit talk from Justin Gaethje, aimed at Conor McGregor for "ducking" him and taking a fight with Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone instead, it seems Gaethje may actually get his wish and meet McGregor in the octagon this Summer!

Ariel Helwani reported on his MMA Show earlier this week that preliminary talks have begun to put this highly clamored for matchup together, and while Ali Abdelaziz (Gaethje's managaer) claims that is untrue...

...I'd trust Ariel over Ali about a zillion times out of a zillion in literally any scenario.

I'm STOKED about this, and really hoping it's true, because aside from it being a fucking banger of a fight, the fight that makes the most sense, and the fight all of the hardcore fans want to see, and all of that - it means Conor is sticking true to his word and staying active! That just got brought into question with the realization that opponent options were dwindiling  There's nothing more dangerous than an actively competing McGregor.

Look at this shit!

I know I'll get people asking why I thought Justin Gaethje's trash talk was cringeworthy, and simply put: because it was.

As if those tweets weren't bad enough, he enlisted the help of "Triple C" while seemingly stoned off his ass and made a callout that make me wanna crawl out of my skin - a "crawlout", if you will…

Oh, and this all came after directly stating on live television following an incredibly impressive knockout that he DIDN'T want to fight McGregor, wasn't interested, and would wait for Khabib…

…while nothing changed on McGregor's end throughout.

So while I respect Justin Gaethje tremendously as a fighter, I just don't think he's all there upstairs, and couldn't have fumbled his way to the top here more…

Understandable, given his style as a cagefighter, but I don't know if calling out a guy who is guaranteed to knock you unconscious is the best idea for him - to each his own!
