Mark Turgeon Got Into A 'Bully-Off' With Ohio State's Head Coach And Then Blasted The Big 10 After The Win Over Minnesota

[Source] - Following Ohio State’s 79-72 win against Maryland at Value City Arena, Turgeon described Wesson as a “bully” who put his forearm into the chest of Terrapins center Jalen Smith on multiple occasions during the game. Also Tuesday, Turgeon appeared on the Courtside with Greenberg & Dakich podcast, where he referred to Wesson again as a “bully” and said he felt the three officials from Sunday’s game should have to sit out a game as punishment.

So these were the quotes by Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon after the loss on Sunday to Ohio State. He kept following it up by calling Kaleb Wesson a bully. It's uh weird to say the least. No big deal but I was at the game and discussed this with my new, close personal friend

I digress. Back to Turgeon in a bully-off. He was pissed about the officiating. Anthony Cowan fouled out on what seemed to be a controversial technical when he made a kicking motion towards Wesson:

Holtmann obviously backed his guy and fired back at Turg in the most passive aggressive way possible:

“I continue to take issue with the comments,” he said. “I have a ton of respect for Mark and the Maryland team and the Maryland program, but I just continue to take issue with the way he characterized Kaleb’s play. I just think it’s inappropriate. I’ve never seen this much conversation after a loss.

Basically wants him to shut the fuck up. Luckily for Holtmann, Maryland played at Minnesota last night. Obviously since Turg made these comments every Maryland fan assumed the Big 10 had it out for them since he got a technical early in the game and Jalen Smith picked up two fouls. Apparently they forgot the refs don't control the fact that Minnesota shot the hell out of the ball while Maryland sucked and Minnesota had foul trouble too.

That said, Maryland did what Maryland does. They get down double digits to a below average team and then make a ridiculous comeback while said below average team pisses down their pants. I can't stress how bad Minnesota was int the second half and late in the game. After nearly airballing this FT

Maryland and Darrell Morsell hit the game-winner on a ridiculous three - especially with Morsell not being a real shooting threat. Nate had you covered last night on that

You would think that would be the blog, but oh no my friend. Mark Turgeon decided to randomly blast the Big 10 for having them play a late game.

Also love how he just talks about him being up late, because as MJ once said 'fuck them kids.' Naturally he got torn apart for this, including by coaches. Guess what dude? Every single team has to deal with something like this. Villanova played at DePaul at the same time a week ago. You're not getting screwed because you should be in the ACC and the Big 10 hates you.

He eventually walked it back, probably because he knows that refs talk and doesn't want a cheap technical again.

I honestly don't know what to make of this Maryland team. The talent is there. Jalen Smith is an All-American and Anthony Cowan is an All-Big 10 player. But it seems like every game comes down to the wire with them either falling down early or blowing a lead. Now, wins are wins and I get that's all Maryland fans really want to see right now. But how great do you feel about squeaking out win after win? Feels like that will come to bite you in the ass in March, which is why I'm likely fading them come the NCAA Tournament.

That said, I'll respect Turgeon way more if he just completely turns heel and talks shit to every coach.

PS: This is perfect
