And For That Reason, I'm Out: Pardon My Take Pitches Ideas to Shark Tank's Mr. Wonderful
Another Pardon My Take episode, another Shark from Shark Tank as today's guest. Kevin O'Leary, aka "Mr. Wonderful," joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter to discuss the new season of Shark Tank, the parts that make a great deal, and the guys pitched him a couple of ideas. Mr. Wonderful also admitted that he can sense someone's "aura" the moment someone who is pitching an idea walks into the room. So, Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter tried that process out with Hank, who pitched an idea of his own:
Mr. Cat: Our producer has a genius idea. Can we have him walk in the room and you can sense his aura?
Mr. Wonderful: Just get him to stand there.
Mr. Cat: Alright, yeah. We're gonna have Hank walk in the room. He has one of the smartest ideas, I won't tell you what it is.
Mr. Wonderful: The aura will say.
Mr. Cat: He has an idea that is revolutionary for the car space. Do you like cars? Do you think the world needs cars?
Mr. Wonderful: Of course.

Mr. Cat: Oh, interesting. Here he comes. Get in the middle. Mr. Wonderful is looking him up and down. Hank is wearing a stained shirt. It is Mardi Gras, though. So, he was probably drinking earlier.
Mr. Commenter: OK, I think we're ready.
Mr. Wonderful: Are you ready? You want the answer? ...
....

....
....
Mr. Wonderful: Hank's a loser.
Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter: Ohhhhh... what?!?!
Mr. Wonderful: He comes in to pitch an idea with a t-shirt on. I'm sorry, man. You gotta be a winner, you gotta be ready, you have to be on your game when you walk into a room like this. Hank, don't even say anything, you're a loser.
Mr. Cat: Wait, explain your idea real quick, Hank.
Hank: Alright, you're going to bed every night...
Mr. Cat: Wait, I thought it was the car stick?
Hank: It's already been on Shark Tank, well, the different version.
Mr. Cat: Do the other one, do the Listerine.
Hank: Listerine and NyQuil... combined. Basically, cut your time getting ready for bed in half.
Mr. Wonderful: Hank, don't give up your day job.
Hank: You didn't even think about it, though.
Mr. Wonderful: I just thought about it, it really sucks.
A tough, tough break for our hard-working producer. There is a phrase out there "If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready," and unfortunately, that may have been what crushed any shot in Mr. Wonderful investing in Hank's idea. If Hank came into work yesterday sporting a full suit and tie, maybe this shark wouldn't have come out swinging on Hank. But, you live and you learn, and Pardon My Take continues to seek for its first deal with a shark from Shark Tank. One day, one day.
