There Is No Possible Way Martin Braithwaite's Barcelona Unveiling Could Have Gone Worse

Earlier today, Barcelona's $19.4M signing Martin Braithwaite from Leganes was unveiled at Camp Nou. Now for those of you that don't know, there are some clubs that just love having these little 'unveilings' forever player they sign.

In all my years of being around soccer, I have never seen a more pathetic display of skills. Ok. Maybe that's an exaggeration, it's not like southwest Connecticut is a breeding ground for professional soccer players. I mean in terms of the pros, this is easily the worst I have ever seen. I mean, the man can barely do a simple ball roll in this video. If he's Barcelona material, then so am I.

The Braithwaite signing was a bullshit scenario anyway. The transfer window had closed three weeks prior to his arrival at Camp Nou. Barcelona, being the cream of the crop, was able to come to some bullshit agreement with La Liga following the injury of winger Ousmane Dembélé. La Liga virtually forced relegation-battling Leganes to sell Braithwaite to Barca. It would be like if Patrick Mahomes got hurt and the NFL just forced the Cardinals to give them Kyler Murray. It's just illogical.

I don't even know why clubs - primarily in Spain - feel the need to parade around their new signing before they've even stepped on the field as an actual player. It just always seemed weird to me. I always end up seeing these videos of packed stadiums to see their clubs new signing. The one that sticks out the most in my brain is Cristiano Ronaldo being unveiled at the Bernabeu in front of 80,000 fans.

Eighty. Thousand. Just to see someone juggle a ball for a little bit!

Call me crazy, but based on that introduction, I think Braithwaite will stink it up at Barca. It seems more forced than anything so I have a feeling it can only end one way.
