Luis Severino's Injury News Has Me Absolutely Terrified
Okay what the fuck people? We haven't even started Spring Training games yet and the Yankees are already down James Paxton and now Luis Severino. Thanos chill the fuck out man. Might as well count Domingo German too since he's suspended. If Gerrit Cole wasn't a thing I'd be three cups of bleach deep.
This Severino news is not good. Tightness/soreness in the forearm and loose bodies in the elbow are huge precursors to you know what. Neither Boone or Cashman know if this will be short term or long term which is a goddamn shit show. They say this dates back to the ALCS yet he had an MRI in the offseason and everything was fine. Randomly the pain came back last night. This sounds like a worst case scenario situation developing before our very eyes.
None of this is good. In fact it's bad. Really bad. I'd put the odds of Severino starting the season on the IL at -300 and that could easily climb in the next few days. He's going to take some anti-inflammatories and see if the pain subsides. Even if it does, it's still a major red flag that this pain vanished in the offseason and came back last night. Not sure anti-inflammatories will cure this just like that. I feel sick.

2. Masahiro Tanaka
3. JA Happ (gulp)
4. Jordan Montgomery
5. Mike King, Deivi Garcia, Clarke Schmidt ?
Picking up right where we left off in 2019. Awesome. CC isn't even on the team anymore and he said today he tore his ACL on vacation. I have all the trust in the world in JMo and any of the guys I listed in the 5th spot, but they weren't supposed to have to make this kind of impact on March 20th.
Seriously don't let Gerrit Cole leave his home unless he has to pitch that day. If he has to pitch that day make sure there's a secret service squad with him every step of the way. My heart cannot take any injury news with him moving forward. Seriously my cholesterol is already high. Lives are at stake here.
